Our studios promote collaboration with other artists and artistic mediums while continuing the exploration of arts endless possibilities. We offer residents the freedom to develop their artist practice, work on product design and hone their teaching skills in a studio dedicated to the arts, education and community. Service hours and event participation is expected from each artist. Englewood Arts is now looking for residents in the fields of:
Glassblowing
Painting
Fibers
Photography
Murals
Woodworking
Metals
Neon
We will also consider residents in Ceramics and Writing.
Writers- Please submit a letter of intent that can include ideas for focused projects, workshops or classes. Also goals, expectations of the work produced. Writers can apply for the full year, however they are free to submit a proposal for their residency that would include a 3 month incremental duration. (3, 6, 9, or 12 months)

Glass Blowing Residency
Eligibility
Applicants must have a basic working knowledge of required equipment and a willingness to learn.
Eligibility is restricted to artists who have completed all formal academic training by the start of the residency, who are not currently enrolled full- or part-time in a degree-granting institution (including BA, MFA, or a teaching certification program), and who are not employed full-time as a teacher at the college level. A college degree is NOT required to apply.
Englewood Arts is looking for talented glass-blowing artists that are looking to teach and work in a brand new, state-of-the-art glass-blowing studio. Residents will lead studio-wide tasks and clean-ups and are responsible for promoting a courteous, thoughtful, and respectful studio presence.
Englewood Arts Glass Artist-in-Residency program gives emerging or established artists the opportunity to work, for one year, in a state-of-the-art and innovative Glass Blowing Studio in Independence, MO in the Historic Englewood Arts District. We offer artists the freedom to develop their practice, work on product design and hone their teaching skills in an organization dedicated to the art of glass working, education, and community.
