Englewood Arts Code of Conduct for Meetings

 
 

2. **Respectful Communication:**
Participants must communicate in a respectful and courteous manner, refraining from offensive language, personal attacks, or disruptive behavior.

1. **Purpose:**
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to establish guidelines for respectful and inclusive behavior during community meetings at our center.

 

4. **Active Listening:**
Participants should actively listen to others, allowing everyone the opportunity to express their opinions without interruption.

3. **Inclusivity:**
All individuals are welcome, and discriminatory behavior or language based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, age, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated inside or outside of meetings. 

 

6. **Time Management:**
Participants should be mindful of time constraints, allowing for an efficient and inclusive discussion. Respect allocated speaking times and avoid monopolizing the conversation.

5. **Constructive Criticism:**
While constructive criticism is encouraged, it should be expressed in a positive and solution-oriented manner, focusing on ideas rather than personal attributes.

 

8. **Privacy and Confidentiality:**
Respect the privacy and confidentiality of others. Information shared during meetings should not be disclosed without consent.

7. **Conflict Resolution:**
In the event of a disagreement, participants are encouraged to address concerns privately or seek assistance from a designated mediator to find a resolution.

 

10. **Compliance with Center Policies:**
Participants are expected to comply with all policies and rules of the community center. Violations may result in consequences, including removal from the meeting or suspension of participation privileges.

9. **Prohibited Activities:**
Any form of harassment, intimidation, or threatening behavior is strictly prohibited. This includes physical, verbal, or online harassment.

 

12. **Review and Amendments:**
This Code of Conduct will be periodically reviewed and may be amended as needed. Participants will be informed of any changes.

11. **Reporting Violations:**
If a participant observes a violation of this Code of Conduct, they are encouraged to report it to a designated staff member for appropriate action.

 
 

By participating in community meetings, individuals agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. The community center reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to violations, with the goal of maintaining a positive and inclusive environment for all.
